Abstract:
Recent breakthroughs in spatial biology have revolutionized our ability to study tissues in their native context, revealing how cellular organization and gene expression shape biological function and disease.
This seminar, Welcome to High-Resolution Spatial Biology with 10x Genomics, will introduce the powerful Visium and Xenium platforms that enable high-resolution, spatially resolved molecular profiling. Visium Spatial Gene Expression combines histological imaging with transcriptomic mapping to reveal gene activity patterns across whole tissue sections, while Xenium In Situ offers subcellular localization of transcripts with single-molecule precision.
Together, these complementary technologies provide an unprecedented view of tissue architecture and molecular complexity. Participants will learn about experimental workflows, data analysis strategies, and case studies demonstrating how spatial transcriptomics drives discovery in developmental biology, oncology, and neuroscience.
